Special Educational Needs
Our Aims
At The Chandler we aim for every child to reach their own highest possible standard of academic attainment and personal development. This is achieved by providing an environment that both challenges and nurtures our children, enabling them to thrive as learners.
We work on developing children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development so they can grow in skills and confidence. We provide individually tailored support, built around the child’s identified needs.
We work alongside parents and external providers to ensure that children are given the appropriate provision to allow every child full access to the National Curriculum.
We adopt a child centred approach to ensure that all children are fully integrated into all activities offered by the school, enabling each to shine.
All pupils have individual needs. Many of these can be met within the normal environment of the classroom for most of the time through a differentiated curriculum. Likewise, some children have special needs all of the time.
Our Special Educational Needs co-ordinator is Mrs Emily Lack. She can be contacted via the school office.
